Snow Storm

While we were at work today we kept hearing
different forecasts on snow for the night. We left work at 4 p.m. because Angie (Matthew's daycare owner) was afraid that parents would be late if they didn't leave before the weather was reportedly to get bad. So, off we go down I-64-no biggie, the weather wasn't bad at all. As soon as we pull off the interstate onto our exit to pick up Matthew it was like entering a different world. The driveways were already covered. The street we were on was covered coming the opposite direction. We get to the road the daycare is on, which is at Angie's house, and the road is covered.
The first picture you see is shortly after we got home, around 5:15 p.m. It's snowed about an hour and a half at this point. The 2nd picture is at 7:15 p.m. This is the railing of our deck. We are pretty certain we aren't going anywhere in the morning. The ground is all one level.
It's beautiful and I know we will enjoy ourselves playing tomorrow. Matthew loves throwing snow, thanks to Mrs. Angie who has taught him to throw snow balls. It's pretty adorable if you ask me.
We are down to one vehicle right now so we are pretty hesitant to take the one we have left out on the road. Kevin has proved already that the car we are left with can't ice skate, which is what we will be dealing with in the morning.

Christmas in Mobile

I've been going through my photos from Christmas and found this one with my mom. Matthew helped her make cookies. I treasured moments I had with my granny (my mom's mom) and I'm so glad that Matthew has grandparents that love him and want to spend time with him. Whether we're with Nana and Papa or MeMe, Mister or Grammy he loves being with them and they love spending time with him. Growing up with just one set of grandparents most of my life, Matthew is blessed to have so many people that love him. I was always close to my Granny and I hope that Matthew will always be close to his grandparents, especially his Mister and Papa who can teach him the "manly" things that Daddy may not know-like mechanics. :o)

My 1st Black Eye

It's never good to get a call from daycare. Especially when you're child has been sick the weekend previous...so when my cell phone rang at work, of course I thought he was sick. Angie was calling to inform me that Matthew had a wreck and now had a black eye. Evidentally a pretty bad wreck. If he would listen and stop running when he's told, this wouldn't happen, but he is all boy. He feel and landed right on a toy. You can see the imprint of the toy. A cold compress and 30 minutes of whining later he calmed down and now laughs if you ask him if he has a black eye...almost like he's proud of it. Only a boy would act like that.
